In 1895, four million dollars in gold (USD) was panned from the Huizopa Creek in just three twenty-five-foot holes. As news of the discovery spread, the gold rush was on, as Gambusinos began high grading at Huizopa until the Mexican Revolution of 1910. In the late 1920’s, the Dolores Mining Company built a road to Huizopa, and ore was shipped to their mill. During this era, a German named Gebhard Heimpel began expanding his activities and managed a 25-ton per day gold and silver pilot-plant operation at Huizopa until 1936. Exploration activities in the area picked up in the 1980's to present, as evidenced by the proximity of producing gold and silver mines.
Historic reports document that Huizopa has very high grade precious metals in oxides and veins on the property. Until recently, no modern exploration has outlined in detail all of the mineral potential of the project. Huizopa has been exploited only superficially with most of the area totally unexplored and, according to previous workers (Charles Stone, 1907; Klie 1936), has all the similarities of rich bonanza mines such as Dolores, which is approximately 10 miles to the northeast.
Gold and silver mineralization is found in the vein system over 1500 meters (4920 feet) of relief and a documented distance of over 4000 meters (2.5 miles) along strike. A north-south vein system is well defined and situated between four (4) porphyry dykes. It is cut by a secondary east-west vein system along with shearing and faulting. The north-south vein system carries primarily high grade gold while the east-west system carries high silver values and copper values in the range of 5 to 70 percent. At least sixteen (16) veins in a mineralized zone over a 300 meters (984 feet) in width exist on the Golondrinas, Mercedes, and Providencia zones of historical production on the project.
To gain further knowledge of historical mining at Huizopa please locate and open the links on our Projects and Investor pages and review the well documented exploration activities. It is Bronco’s opinion that its Huizopa Project is an advanced exploration project of merit and is drill ready to build a sizable, valuable, precious metal resource.
